Nevada is one of the few states in the US that doesn’t have a lottery. That could change in the future but that’s a different story.

The winner who chose to withhold their name won $12,185,766.40 in a Megabucks jackpot. They won the huge prize playing the $1 Megabucks Triple Red Hot 7s Spitfire Multiplier reel slot machine.

The five-credit, five-line slot machine rewarded the jackpot after the machine lined up three Megabucks logos on the center line.

This is the fourth time Megabucks was hit for a jackpot greater than $10 million this year. The last Megabucks jackpot took place just over two months ago.

The progressive Megabucks jackpots have been hitting so frequently this year that there hasn’t been much time for the prizes to grow too much. It takes one hundred million pennies to increase the Megabucks progressive jackpot by $1 million.

In August a player at Aria won a Megabucks jackpot for $10.1 million playing the Megabucks Gold Forge reel slot machine. Similar to the recent jackpot winner this is a five-credit, five-reel slot machine that costs $5 per spin.

The identity of the player is unknown but this pseudo Nevada Lottery winner was from California.

A month earlier another player won a $10,488,726 Megabucks jackpot in North Las Vegas. The player was at Boyd Gaming’s Cannery Casino and Hotel.

According to a news post by KTNV Las Vegas, this was the first time the player visited the Cannery. The player, identified as Jesus C., only inserted $40 into the Megabucks slot machine before hitting the reel slot machine jackpot.

Largest Megabucks jackpot in 2023

The biggest Megabucks jackpot so far this year happened outside of Las Vegas and on a different type of slot machine. In April, a player won a Megabucks jackpot at Atlantis Casino in Reno, NV.

The slot player took home a $14,005,832.09 Megabucks jackpot on a $10 bet.

Unlike the Las Vegas jackpots, the Reno player was on the Megavault video slot game from IGT. In this version of the game, there has to be a Megabucks logo on all five columns of the video slot game.

This was a record-breaking slot machine jackpot for a Reno casino.

The largest Megabucks jackpot in Nevada happened in 2003. A player won a massive $39.7 million Megabucks jackpot.

Coincidentally, this record slot machine jackpot happened at Excalibur in Las Vegas – the same casino as the latest Megabucks jackpot.
